USING FERMENTATION WEIGHTS: Fermentation weights are ideal for whole or cut veggies. For shredded or very small pieces of cut up veggies, use multiple sets of weights, or use strips of a cabbage leaf criss crossed over the top of the veggies and tucked down the sides of the jar. Ensure the cabbage strips are well submerged under the brine.

Horrible quality lid and airlock

Extremely disappointed in this kit. The provided airlock does not fit into the lid with the hole + plastic grommet: the airlock is very slightly too large for the bottom to fit through the hole. Ordered 2 of these and one of the kits now has a broken grommet with an airlock inserted and the other kit has a broken airlock - the airlock broke while trying to insert it into the hole. Save your money and buy items separately.

Its ok...

The jar is fine but i find the weights are too small. Better for a wide mouth jar. also the airlock leaked right from the box. I am not sure I got 30 dollars value from this kit. I still love Cultures for Health but I'm disappointed

Only had it for a short time.

I have only had a chance to ferment once with the half gallon vegetable master. Seems to work great. First time for us to eat fermented carrots, so I think it did well. The ceramic weight arrive in three pieces but Cultures for Health quickly sent a replacement.

Love it, easy to use!

As a new fermenter, this made the process a bit less intimidating. Everything came well packaged, nothing broken. I've fermented some carrots and I'm doing pickles now.
