Easy to make and delicious

I am re-establishing my microbiome after IV antibiotics. I found a local source of raw milk, and have found the Cultures for Health kefir powder easy to ferment a quart of kefir. The taste is mild, quite like that of yogurt. I'm feeling optimistic about the millions and billions of bacteria healing my intestinal tract!

I have the powdered kefir starter which has done well for the most part. My last batch, which was on its first re-culture, turned out very thick as usual after about 20 hours (whole milk), but then turned back into milk consistency after 2 days in the refrigerator. It still smells like kefir, but I wonder why it went thin after just two days? As I said, it was only the first re-culture. Should I culture it again with a fresh packet? Thanks, Lisa
