This starter is amazing! I have had it for a year now and it out preforms my expectations. It is hearty even if not fed every week when I keep it in the fridge. It is well established and always gives that true San Fransico sourdough taste. I know, I was raised in the Bay area. I love the educational advice you give on the site too!

Had actually bought 2 packs of this starter just in case one was not able to be revived, but turns out I'd only needed one... it was really easy to get it activated, feeding it a diet of bread flour and distilled (pure) water. This starter is really hardy and active… I was able to start baking within 3 days of activating, using the discard for my pizza crust. And I have since been baking wonderfully tasty and tangy sourdough loafs every week!

I have now successfully made sourdough bread 3 times! I’ve tried making yeast breads in the past and could never get the texture/ consistency where it should be. Who knew sourdough would be easier!? Love it and can’t wait to try kombucha next!

I abuse this starter a lot and it just keeps on going. You can leave it in the fridge for two or three weeks, feed it and it takes right off. As you can tell I'm not a by the book sourdough person but it sure works for me.
