OUR FAVORITE KEFIR SMOOTHIE RECIPES

1- FRESH AND FROZEN FRUIT KEFIR SMOOTHIE

Using a combination of fresh and frozen fruit creates a thick, ice-cold texture without watering down the smoothie with ice. Use the basic smoothie formula and then move on to the many delicious combinations found below

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup milk kefir
  • 1/2 cup fresh fruit
  • 1/2 cup frozen fruit
  • Sweetener as desired
  • Add-ins: powdered herbs or seaweeds, chia or flax seeds, flax or cod liver oil

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
  • Add other ingredients from the list below, as desired.
  • Refrigerate for a few hours or enjoy immediately.

Note:Don't let the smoothie sit overnight, or the natural sugars in the fruits (fructose) will start tobreak down and weaken the probiotics in your milk kefir.

2- AVOCADO AND BANANA KEFIR SMOOTHIE

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
  • Refrigerate for a few hours or enjoy immediately.

Note: Don't sweetenkefir with honey, as it contains natural antibiotics that can kill probiotics in your milk kefir.
