      DID NOT WORK

Received Kombucha starter culture (dehydrated scoby) for Christmas. I started the culture exactly by the directions. I started it Dec 26th. I purchased a seed starter heat mat to keep it warm to 85 degrees. Jan 25th I made my first batch. Nothing happened so I made a 2nd batch Feb 19th w/o vinegar at room temp (abt 65-68 degrees. still nothing happening. March 4th I checked on it and I have green mold floating on top. I have made Kombucha in the past from a Scoby someone gave to me and never did I grow mold. I would not recommend using a dehydrated scoby. I will only source live scoby's from now on.

      Cultures For Health
