Rice maltodextrin, live active bacteria (Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp bulgaricus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Streptococcus thermophilus)

Vegan Yogurt Starter Allergen Information
Manufactured in a facility that also produces products containing soy and dairy.

May contain trace amounts of gluten: Barley source is used as a fermentation nutrient.

HOW TO STORE YOUR STARTER CULTURE: Store the starter culture in the refrigerator or freezer until you’re ready to activate it. Use the starter culture by the date on the bag.

Makes nice nondairy yogurt

Used in conjunction with Pomona’s pectin for coconut yogurt. Worked well and tasted great but when combined with the price of the coconut milk was far too expensive to buy again. The included thermometer wasn’t accurate and I used my own digital one.

Am I reading it correctly in that the yogurt culture is not gluten-free? I have a gluten intolerance to the point that if my food comes into contact with gluten, I will have a reaction. Thank you

Hi Brenda! Yes, unfortunately, this yogurt culture is not gluten-free. There is a chance that there will be a trace amount of gluten in the culture.

Im having a difficult time locating “calcium Water” that is recommended. Any favorites recommended? Also, will this starter included live cultures? Or will it be required to add that in from an outside source when making? Thanks!!

Hi Amanda! We sell Ponoma's Universal Pectin that includes a packet of monocalcium phosphate to be able to make calcium water. All of our starters come in a powdered "dehydrated" state that when added to milk, it will culture and make yogurt. So the "Vegan Yogurt" packet that is included in the kit is the "dehydrated" powdered starter that you will use to make your yogurt!

Hello! You don't have to put the box in the refrigerator, you can just store the starter itself in the fridge until ready to use!

I've never made yogurt before. Once you use the starter to make yogurt can you then use that yogurt you made to make future yogurt? Is this included in the instructions? Thanks!

Hello! Yes! Depending on the starter that you choose, you are able to make multiple batches of yogurt using some from a previous batch. Our heirloom yogurts are the ones you'll want to look at because those can be reused to make multiple batches!
