The humans in this house love kombucha! But what makes for a happy pooch? Especially a 75 pound Golden Retriever? Kombucha scobys!
That’s right, scobys. You’ve run out of friends to give them to, your kombucha hotel is now likened to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and composting them is making you feel a bit guilty, so what else can you do? Make dog treats!
It’s easy, and your dog will appreciate you. I dehydrate my 12 inch scobys (YEP folks, 12 inches in diameter!) in my dehydrator on low for about 24 hours or so, until it looks like fruit leather. Once it’s done, I cut/tear them up into little strips or square pieces, and store these little pieces of heaven in jars at room temperature.
In a sense, you’ve got free dog treats! You also have a great way to clear your nose when you open up a jar….hello vinegar! This is our happy dog, J.B.:
