In today’s episode, Cara speaks withAmanda Sauceda, a gut health nutritionist and registered dietician.
Some of you may know her from Instagram as thegutheatlh.nutritionist. Amanda talks to us about the Mindful Gut framework and how to apply it to our everyday lives.
They address the main differences between prebiotics and probiotics, diet diversity, and Amanda’s Mindful Gut approach to food.
Amanda also shares some of her favorite ferments and what she likes to do with her staple foods.
Have you ever kept a food journal? Amanda gives some great advice when it comes to food journaling.
What is your purpose for keeping the journal? Do you have pain or digestive issues that you’re trying to address? A food journal will really help you build and identify patterns, and give some insights into your diet so you know what needs to be adjusted.
When analyzing, Amanda recommends diving in with a plan and only analyzing 1 issue at a time so you don’t overwhelm yourself.
When it comes down to it, it’s all about listening to your body and finding what works best for you.
