I really liked the idea of flavoring my water kefir with the Elderflower Cordial flavor kit. But the result was just ok for me, not as special as I expected. I actually prefer no flavoring to this. I haven't been able to try the flavor kit for kombucha because the mother I purchased did not work.
I am very pleased with this flavor combination. I made it full strength the first time, but subsequently I have reduced the amount by half, two teaspoons of each steeped for 5 minutes, to suit my taste. The dried flowers and herbs are high quality and I will definitely order again.
This flavoring kit yields a water kefir with a lovely, delicate flavor. The lemon balm balances the elderflower and can also be used with lavender if you have some on hand. A true gem!
