Ingredients To Make Our Spicy Sandwich Spread Recipe

  • 1 cup of kefir cheese. It is easy to make our kefir cheese! Here is our favorite kefir cheese recipe.
  • Splash of milk—any kind will work.
  • 2 tbsp of fermented hot sauce mash. Hot sauce mash is the leftover part of the chopped peppers and vegetables after you strain the fermented hot sauce. This is what makes your spicy sandwich spread spicy.
  • ¼ tsp of black pepper
  • ¼ tsp of garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp of onion powder
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Spicy Sandwich Sauce

The first step to making a spicy sandwich spread is to put the kefir cheese in a bowl. Use the back of the spoon to smooth out the kefir cheese if it comes out chunky. Next, add a splash of milk and stir together until it forms a thick paste that is similar to the thickness of sour cream.

The next step is to add the fermented hot sauce mash and spices and salt to taste. Stir until smooth, using the back of the spoon to smooth out any chunks.

Now you are ready to spread your spicy sandwich sauce on your sandwich—we recommend trying this on your spicy chicken sandwich to add an extra kick!

Store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to one week.
