RECIPE: HERB AND BUTTERMILK MARINADE

Recipe: Herb and Buttermilk Marinade

Rated 5.0 stars by 1 users

Using a cultured ingredient in a marinade helps to tenderize meat before cooking, and adds flavor, too. This marinade is super simple and works perfectly with chicken or pork.

Celtic sea salt is a mineral-rich salt that takes fermentation to the next level. It is our favorite for fermenting vegetables and an alternative to ordinary table salt in the cultured kitchen.

  • 1 cup cultured buttermilk
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp. dried sage
  • 1/2 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
